Hiking Crystal Lake – A Wild Montana Adventure with Baby & Dogs
Yana Robertson
If you’re looking for a family-friendly trail with soul-soothing views, clear water, and a little surprise waiting on the loop—Crystal Lake in Montana’s Big Snowy Mountains is it.
This summer, Cody, baby Yarrow, the pups, and I loaded up the truck and headed out to this quiet, high-elevation gem for a hike around the 1.75-mile loop trail that circles the lake. The weather was moody, the water was glassy, and the trail was just right for a stroller-free adventure with a baby on my back and camera in hand.
